Our Equipment Partners division will be exhibiting at UK Semiconductors, taking place from Monday 8th to Tuesday 9th July at Sheffield Hallam University.

This annual event is recognised as the UK’s preeminent semiconductor research conference in the UK, uniting the science community with manufacturers, R&D organisations and funding agencies. The exhibition showcases the latest in semiconductor research and technology, encompassing products and services in semiconductors and photonics.

IES Equipment Partners will be representing its affiliate semiconductor manufacturers; EVG Group, scia Systems, Veeco and Alpha Plasma. A team led by IES Equipment Partners Business Development Manager, Rick Halle, will showcase advanced products, providing application expertise.

Under the spotlight will be EVG Group’s Mask Aligners and Bonders, scia Systems’ Ion Beam Etch & Disposition, Veeco’s Atomic Layer Disposition, and Alpha Plasma’s Resist Strip and Surface Preperation. The team will also advise on solutions to augment research and gain industry advantage.

The team is looking forward to engaging with a diverse cross-section of delegates; from universities and institutes to fabrication facilities and corporations.

UK Semiconductors has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2006, indicating the buoyancy of the semiconductor industry and academic research in the UK. The government’s Department of Science and Technology has had a presence at the event, staging a public consultation with the semiconductor community on its National Semiconductor Strategy, launched in 2023.

IES Equipment Partners will be exhibiting at Stand No.8, where the team will be greeting delegates and reconnecting with familiar faces.

The UK Semiconductors Technical Programme for 2024 will feature plenary speakers providing extended presentations on subjects such as; quantum dots as single photon sources, the impact of trap states in molecular and other disordered semiconductors and ultraclean assembly of van der Waal’s heterostructures. UK Semiconductors will play host to the prize talk for the IOP Semiconductor Physics Group thesis prize, discussing probing strong electron correlations using semiconductor nanodevices. There will also be an update on the UK Semiconductor Strategy and an introduction to the government’s new Innovation and Knowledge Centres

Rick Halle, IES Equipment Partners Business Development Manager, said: “We are delighted to be exhibiting at UK Semiconductors for the third time, representing our partners EVG Group, scia Systems, Veeco and Alpha Plasma. This conference attracts both the academic and industrial sides of the semiconductor community, and we look forward to presenting the exciting capabilities of our partners to delegates at such a promising time for the UK’s semiconductor industry.”
